산림청 국립자연휴양림관리소는 28일 캠핑 인구 증가에 발맞춰 국민이 더 안심하고 자연 속에서 즐길 수 있도록 노후한 야영장 시설을 대대적으로 개선하고 부족한 편의시설을 확충하고 있다고 밝혔다.
국립희리산해송자연휴양림(충남 서천)은 5월부터 오는 8월까지 좁고 불편한 야영장 및 위생복합시설을 전면 리모델링하고 있다. 또한, 휴양림 내 마중정원과 대규모 맥문동 군락을 조성하여 이용객들에게 새로운 볼거리 및 쉼터를 제공할 계획이다.
국립운문산자연휴양림(경북 청도)은 7월까지 완공을 목표로 노후화된 야영데크를 전부 철거하고 기존 야영장을 오토캠핑장과 데크야영장으로 나누어 새롭게 조성하고 있다. 아울러, 이용객들의 안전 확보와 이용 편의를 위해 안전울타리 및 보행 매트, 계단, 주차장 등이 새로 설치된다.
국립천관산자연휴양림(전남 장흥)은 야영장 크기가 작고 노후로 인한 안전사고의 발생 위험이 있어 4월부터 전면적인 야영장 정비사업을 진행하고 있다. 오는 7월까지 위생시설, 데크야영장 정비 및 캐빈하우스 6동을 신규 조성함으로써 이용객들에게 편리하고 감성 있는 캠핑 공간을 제공할 예정이다.
김명종 국립자연휴양림관리소장은 “앞으로도 국민이 편리하고 안전하게 국립자연휴양림을 이용할 수 있도록 노후화된 시설을 개선하고 더 많은 볼거리와 즐길거리를 제공하기 위해 노력하겠다”라고 밝혔다.
