산림청 국립자연휴양림관리소는 28일 국립자연휴양림에서 즐길 수 있는 다양한 만들기 체험 프로그램을 소개했다.
백운산자연휴양림(강원 원주)에서는 봄에 채취한 꽃잎과 나뭇잎을 염색해 말린 꽃누르미를 이용해 거울과 전등, 열쇠고리 등을 만드는 체험이 예술성과 재미를 동시에 느낄 수 있어 인기가 많다.
지리산자연휴양림에서는 지역 특산품인 전통 한지를 이용해 인형, 등, 장식용 신발 등을 만드는 체험이 어린이는 물론 옛 향수를 느끼려는 어른들에게도 높은 호응을 얻고 있다.
검마산자연휴양림은 나만의 야생화 화분 만들기가 인기다. 죽은 나무줄기를 다듬어 만든 화분에 바위솔을 심어보면서 야생화를 관찰하고 숲 생태를 이해할 수 있어 어린이 교육에도 유익하다.
대야산자연휴양림은 도자기로 유명한 지역 특색을 살려 초벌구이한 도자기에 그림을 그린 뒤 전기가마에 구워내는 체험을 진행하고 있다. 도자기에 그림을 그리는 재미와 실생활에서 사용할 수 있는 완성도 높은 결과물로 체험객의 만족도가 높다.
변산자연휴양림은 인근 곰소만에서 생산되는 천일염에 지역 농가에서 생산한 울금, 뽕잎, 함초 분말을 첨가해 건강 소금을 만드는 체험이 남녀노소 모두에게 인기가 많다. 이 밖에도 휴양림별로 다양한 목공예 체험프로그램이 마련돼 있으니, 각 휴양림 매표소에 문의 후 신청하면 체험할 수 있다.
김명종 국립자연휴양림관리소장은 “나무와 꽃이 어우러진 아름다운 국립자연휴양림에서 휴식도 하고 만들기 체험도 하며 좋은 추억을 많이 만드시길 바란다”라고 말했다.
