환경재단은 오는 6월 7일(토)부터 8일(일)까지 서울 망원시장에서 열리는 ‘2025 망원비어페스트’ 현장에서 다회용품 사용 문화를 확산하기 위한 ‘그린리턴 캠페인’을 진행한다. 환경재단이 주최·주관하고 3M과의 파트너십을 통해 글로벌기빙(GlobalGiving)이 지원하는 이번 캠페인은 전통시장에서 일회용품 사용을 줄이고 시민들이 직접 제로웨이스트(Zero-Waste)를 실천해 볼 수 있도록 기획됐다.
‘2025 망원비어페스트’는 망원시장 문화관광형시장 육성사업의 일환으로 개최되는 수제 맥주 축제로, 젊은 세대가 전통시장과 자연스럽게 어우러질 수 있도록 기획됐다. 지난해에 이어 두 번째로 열리는 이번 축제는 올해 환경재단과 협업하며 환경친화적 운영 방식을 도입해 새로운 시도를 더 했다.
‘그린리턴 캠페인’은 6월 7일(토)부터 8일(일) 양일간, 오후 2시부터 6시까지 망원시장 공영주차장 지상부공원 내 부스에서 운영된다. 방문객은 다회용 컵과 식기를 무료로 대여받아 수제 맥주와 먹거리를 즐긴 후, 사용한 다회용품을 반납하면 고체 치약, 세안 비누, 천연 수세미 등 제로웨이스트 굿즈 중 1종을 일 750명 한정으로 선착순 증정받을 수 있다.
이와 함께 현장에서 다회용품 사용 인증샷을 SNS에 업로드하면 캠페인 양일간 사용가능한 망원시장 전용 기프트쿠폰이 선착순으로 제공된다. 시민과 상인이 함께 제로웨이스트 변화의 주체가 될 수 있도록 하고, 친환경 소비와 지역 상생을 잇는 선순환 구조를 만들기 위한 취지다.
캠페인 기간 하루 7000개씩, 이틀간 총 1만4000여 개의 다회용품이 운영될 예정이며, 이를 통해 약 280kg의 일회용 쓰레기 감축 효과가 기대된다. 대여되는 다회용품은 친환경 다회용기 전문기업 트래쉬버스터즈의 검증된 세척·살균 시스템을 거쳐 위생적으로 순환 공급돼, 시민들이 안심하고 이용할 수 있도록 철저한 위생 관리 체계를 갖췄다.
환경재단은 그린리턴 캠페인은 시장처럼 일상적인 공간에서도 일회용품 없이 충분히 즐겁고 편리하게 소비할 수 있다는 경험을 시민들과 나누고자 마련했다며, 이번 캠페인을 계기로 시민들이 친환경 소비를 실천하고 전통시장이 지속가능한 공간으로 전환되는 계기가 되길 기대한다고 밝혔다.
